To All Members of the Campus Community:

The CSU updated its policy on Immunization Requirements and Recommendations (EO 803) in February of this year. The revised policy applies to all students enrolled in courses starting in Fall 2023. The requirements and recommendations in the policy are adopted from the American College Health Association (ACHA) Immunization Recommendations for College Students and the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) Immunization and Screening Recommendations for College Students.

The updated policy changes the requirement for most immunization to a recommendation, however it allows individual campuses the discretion to establish local requirements. Based on the recommendations of campus and public health professionals, beginning in the Fall 2023 semester, all students will be required to provide proof that they have received MMR, hepatitis B, and Meningococcal immunizations. Students living in North Village residence halls, student-athletes, and international students will be required to receive additional immunizations based on the risk of exposure. Please see the list of required immunizations and instructions for submitting proof of immunization.

All students age 18 and younger will still be required to provide proof of full immunization against the hepatitis B virus prior to enrollment, per California law (HSC sections 120390-120390-7).
