Supplementing Your Retirement
A stable, life-long pension is a definite perk with the ASRS, but it is not designed to replace your entire work income during retirement. It's part of a three-framed system for your income, with Social Security and personal savings being your other two forms of income. Personal savings can be accrued through several forms, including a Supplemental Savings Plan.
