Tufts Student Life
RESOURCES AVAILABLE TO ALL STUDENTS
AUGUST 14, 2017
Dear Students,
In the wake of the terrible and tragic events that occurred this weekend in Charlottesville, VA, we are writing to reiterate President Monaco's message of deep concern to members of the Tufts community. We share his concern for the open expression of hate demonstrated by white supremacists towards so many already marginalized communities, and we condemn the impunity and disregard for human dignity in their actions.
We  recognize that many students may feel grief and outrage about the senseless loss of life and the violence carried out against counter protestors. We want to remind students about resources available here at Tufts, including during the summer monthsThose affected by the incidents in Charlottesville may contact any of the following for support:
We stand in solidarity with the victims of hate-fueled violence, and we send our thoughts and prayers to them and their loved ones. We unequivocally denounce the message with which white supremacists marched this weekend and, in keeping with Tufts’ commitment to active citizenship, inclusion, and collaboration, we affirm our efforts to combat hatred and bigotry in all its forms.
Sincerely,

Mary Pat McMahon
