Dr. Andrea Anderson - Recent Report from the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine
Please see the recent report co-authored by Dr. Andrea Anderson on Improving Primary Care Valuation Decisions for the Physician Fee Schedule by the Center for Medicare; this report makes specific recommendations for CMS to address the systemic flaws currently affecting primary care professionals and limiting the potential of high-quality primary care services for all.
Dr. Terry Kind
Dr. Terry Kind awarded the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP) Research and Scholarship Award
Please join us in congratulating Dr. Terry Kind, who recently received a national medical student education research & scholarship award provided at the Council on Medical Student Education in Pediatrics (COMSEP) national meeting in Indianapolis on April 4, 2025. This award is given to an individual who has made significant contributions to advancing pediatric medical student education through impactful research and scholarship, mentorship of students and younger faculty, and demonstrated an impact on changing student assessment and program evaluation at a national level.
Dr. Shazia Samanani
Dr. Shazia Samanani awarded the NEGEA Recipient of the M. Brownell Anderson Award for Emerging Medical Educators
Dr. Shazia Samanani will be awarded the NEGEA recipient of the M. Brownell Anderson Award for Emerging Medical Educators. As a recipient of this regional award, she will also be a finalist for the national M. Brownell Anderson Award, given to one of the four regional awardees from the four GEA regions at the annual AAMC Learn Serve Lead (LSL) meeting. She will be presented the award in-person at the upcoming NEGEA  Annual Conference, April 9-11th, hosted by Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey.

Exemplary faculty and staff from across GW will lead these workshops to discuss the intersection of technology and academic medicine, with a special emphasis on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Do you need help designing an educational session or using a new teaching technology? Teddy Hristov, the CFE Senior Instructional Designer, holds weekly office hours to support faculty. These office hours are designated for discussing and practicing the best use of educational technology and pedagogical teaching and learning methods. Do not hesitate to contact her if you have questions about completing a session design worksheet.
