Faith Family,

FCS would like to thank everyone for the great start-up to the school year, even with the unique circumstances around coronavirus. Special thanks to the FCS staff for their hard work to help the year get going. We appreciate the spirit and kindness of parents and students as we transitioned to this different type of start. Everyone has done an excellent job with all of the changes.

Here are a few reminders:

Face Coverings – No political face coverings or face coverings with gruesome or scary symbols.

Sickness - Do not send kids to school sick or on medicine to control symptoms. Please call the school and let us know if your child is sick.

Departure Times - As we transition more into the school year, high school departure time for the day will move back to 3:05. The only high school students leaving at 2:30 pm will be seniors who have acceptable grades in classes. All other high school students cannot leave until 3:05.

Middle school students are dismissed early only if parents are picking up siblings in the elementary. Please do not come before 2:45 pm for middle school students. They need time to get back to class, get items and be screened before they leave.

Elementary will continue to dismiss at 2:30 pm. We will not start dismissal before 2:30 pm.

Emergency Cards – These have been sent home. Please return them back to school on Monday.

The 10th-12th Wilds Trip - The Wilds announcement for 10th through 12th will be sent home on Monday. Parents will be sent an email explaining the decision of the school.

School Closing - There will be no school on Labor Day, September 7.

Even though our teachers' convention has been moved to an online format, we will still be out of school on September 23-25.

Sporting Events - Volleyball and soccer games will start the week of September 14. Our association, the NCCSA, will make announcements in the days ahead about game requirements. These requirements may affect fan attendance because we are currently in Phase 2 in the state of North Carolina. FCS is required to uphold the requirements of the NCCSA. Please be looking for these updates in the days ahead.

Lost and Found Claimed by Thursday

We have several items left from last school year. They will be out in the hallway near the learning center until Thursday afternoon. After school on Thursday, they will be available to anyone, and we will take the remains to the local outreach center.

Absence and Tardy Notes

On the day following an absence, please send a note with your child to school giving the reason for the absence. This will help us with records on school attendance. Tardy notes are also encouraged.

How Can You Help Us at Dropoff and Pickup?

-In the mornings, please ask your child or children to be ready to get out of the car quickly so that we keep the dropoff lines moving well.

-Please place your name card in the front window for picking up your child or children. This helps us keep things moving more quickly.

-Those who are picking up elementary students only, please come at 2:30 pm. Those who are picking up both elementary and ms/hs students, please wait and come at 2:45 pm.

Eagle Shirt Orders

Please turn in your Eagle spirit shirt orders right away! Our Eagle Club is offering both youth and adult sizes in three colors.

Afterschool Care

After we are able to get the school year going, we will assess the conditions and possibilites on Friday, September 4, and then make a decision if afterschool care can be provided.

Pre-pay Lunch Accounts

This year the school will are using the FACTS SIS Lunch System. It is similar to our past systems. In your Family Portal, under the "Financial" tab, you will see that you have a PRE-PAY account. We are handling as little money as possible. You may add money directly from your bank account or credit card to your PRE-PAY Lunch Account. You have two options for ordering lunch: 1) You may order through the Family Portal Lunch calendar; or 2) in the morning at homeroom. The lunch orders will be deducted from your PRE-PAY Account.

Tuesday - Baked Spaghetti, Bread, Salad, PBJ

Wednesday - Sloppy Joe Casserole, Corn, Chocolate Chip Delight, PBJ
