Drop In Active Learning (DIALS)Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 3:30pm CT Join colleagues and facilitator David Turok, MD, MPH, as the National Clinical Training Center for Family Planning hosts the second in a series of six ‘Drop In Active Learning Sessions’ (DIALS).
This DIALS will focus on enhancing and implementing policies, procedures, and protocols for high quality, equitable and accessible emergency contraception. Dr. Turok will discuss available emergency contraception agents and evidence-based strategies for critiquing existing protocols through case studies and participant feedback. Join us and share your own tips for providing emergency contraception at your site. Whether you’re able to drop in for a few minutes or a full hour, we’re sure you’ll take away valuable information about implementation and continuous quality improvement for provision of emergency contraception.

PodcastThe NCTCFP speaks with Jessica Swafford Marcella, MPA, the Deputy Assistant Secretary, Office of Population Affairs and Director of the Office of Adolescent Health, to discuss the new Title X Final Rule, which went into effect on November 8th, 2021, including changes to options counseling and telehealth services.
Toolkit & Toolkit TourThis toolkit is a collection of evidence-based resources related to user-administered subcutaneous depot medroxyprogesterone acetate (DMPA-SC), an FDA-approved, progestin-only injectable contraceptive method. This toolkit is intended for Title X staff but includes resources that can be shared with DMPA-SC users as well. The goal of the DMPA-SC toolkit is to assist clinics in adopting best practices and provide clinical recommendations for DMPA-SC. The toolkit does not have to be used sequentially and any topic can be accessed according to your needs and interests.
Job AidThis palm card, updated in June 2021, provides common codes for contraceptive management visits, including ICD-10 diagnosis and procedure/supply codes. Contraceptive types include IUDs, Implant, Oral Contraceptive Pills, DMPA, Emergency Contraception, Patch, FABM, Vaginal Ring, and general family planning counseling.

Grantee Clinical Leadership and Advisory Council
The Title X National Clinical Training Center for Family Planning (NCTCFP) is looking for 15-18 members representing a variety of Title X grantees, service sites, and subrecipients. These members will support the activities of NCTCFP through continuous quality improvement by providing input and guidance on the relevance of learning materials and activities, learning modalities, and changing training needs of the Title X and family planning field.
GCLAC members are expected to attend three virtual meetings, one each quarter, lasting up to ninety minutes.

Timely Topic ModuleAs suicide remains the second leading cause of death for adolescents and barriers to accessing mental health care remain high, medical providers often become the entry point of mental health care for these patients. To support providers' learning on these topics, the Adolescent Health Initiative is piloting its new Timely Topic Module on Adolescent Suicide Prevention in Primary Care, a resource that provides evidence-based guidance on identifying, treating, and managing depression and suicidal ideation among youth.

From the Reproductive Health National Training CenterThe RHNTC is hiring!
JSI seeks a Reproductive Health Consultant to join the Reproductive Health National Training Center (RHNTC) project and contribute to JSI’s family planning, reproductive and sexual health portfolio. Ideal candidates will bring significant understanding of and 5 or more years of experience in Title X-funded family planning projects, as well as experience developing and delivering training and technical assistance for adult learners. Additionally, candidates should embrace opportunities for personal and organizational growth, enjoy working independently, demonstrate a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills, demonstrate commitment to health and racial equity, and are able to work as part of a team to deliver high-quality project and client services. Candidates should also be committed to supporting JSI’s mission of promoting and improving health for all, with a focus on populations who have been marginalized and under-resourced. This position is within JSI’s Health Services Division, responsible for our diverse range of U.S-based public health and health services work, and located in our Boston, MA office. Register for Training Opportunities with the RHNTC The RHNTC invites Title X grantees to apply for two virtual training opportunities that will take place from January to May 2022:
The Project Promotion Technical Assistance Group will support Title X grantees to strengthen project promotion activities to ensure access to equitable, affordable, client-centered family planning services. Through virtual monthly sessions and individual coaching calls, the TAG will support grantees to develop an individualized project promotion plan, and equip them to support their subrecipients and/or service sites through a similar process. The TAG will support up to 5 Title X grantee teams. Apply by December 10, 2021 on rhntc.org.
The Hypertension Learning Collaborative will support teams of Title X grantees and service sites to develop a systematic, comprehensive method to improve quality of and access to hypertension prevention and control within their networks. Through virtual monthly sessions and individual coaching calls, the collaborative will support grantees to develop an improvement plan utilizing tools and resources presented in the RHNTC’s Hypertension Prevention and Control Improvement Toolkit. The collaborative will support up to 10 teams consisting of a Title X grantee and an identified service site Apply by December 17 on rhntc.org.
Advancing Sexual and Reproductive Health Equity in Family Planning Podcast Series
The RHNTC partnered with Power to Decide to produce a four-episode podcast series exploring tactics, programs, frameworks, and ideals to help your program address inequities in family planning programs and provide more client-centered care. The series is hosted by Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley, CEO of Power to Decide, in conversation with subject matter experts in the reproductive health field. Episodes can be downloaded or streamed to your device.
