Did you know? July is Smart Irrigation Month. It is a month designated to raise awareness about the importance of water-use efficiency through best practices and efficient technologies. July is typically the month with the greatest residential water use and with current drought restrictions now is the time to take action and we are here to help!

Landscape irrigation accounts for about 60 percent of water usage for the average So Cal home. Reducing your outdoor water use can help save the environment, save water, and save money. Let us help you identify sprinkler problems, improve efficiency, and irrigate intelligently by signing up for our FREE Sprinkler Checkup Program.

For qualifying properties in our service area, you will receive a thorough inspection of your irrigation system, including a report of what changes may be needed, a custom watering schedule, and how to apply for available rebates and programs in Southern California.

Garden Photo Contest

Click, Click! Celebrate waterwise plants and gardens by submitting your photos to our Garden Photo Contest. This contest seeks to highlight the beauty and impact of waterwise plants and gardens and is open to all, whether you’re a master gardener, photography expert or just visiting our garden.

Here’s how to enter:

Chose a category: Nature, Waterwise Plants, People or Pets in the Garden
Post your photo on social media using the hashtag #WaterwiseCommunityCenter
Email your photo to cwarren@cbwcd.org

Rules:

Entries must be taken at the District's Waterwise Demonstration Garden only
Photos must be original and owned by participant
Entries must be submitted by July 20th

The top three photos entered will be posted on the District's social media for the community to vote for their favorite! Winners will be featured in an upcoming issue of The Drop and on the District's IG & FB. Grab your smart phone or camera and head to the District’s Waterwise Demonstration Garden at 4594 San Bernardino Street in Montclair.

When visiting and taking photos at the Demonstration Garden please stay on pathways and off garden structures for the safety of visitors and habitats.

Parks Make Life Better!

Parks are yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Parks are forever. Celebrate Parks Make Life Better month by visiting our Wilderness Park at the Waterwise Community Center. Our park includes a small arboretum, walking trails, fitness equipment, lush lawn (irrigated with recycled water), and views of our Groundwater Recharge Basin and San Gabriel Mountains. Plan your next park day at our Wilderness Park and don't forget to visit our Waterwise Demonstration Garden.

CBWCD Board Elections

Did you know that our Board seats for Divisions 1, 3, and 7, representing parts of Upland, Montclair, Ontario, Chino, and Chino Hills are up for election in November 2022?
