Monthly Spotlight: ALS Awareness Month

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (also known as ALS, Lou Gehrig’s disease, or motor neuron disease) is a disease that progressively paralyzes people because the brain is no longer able to communicate with the muscles of the body that we are typically able to move at will. Over time, as the muscles of the body break down, someone living with ALS will lose the ability to walk, talk, eat, swallow, and eventually breathe.

Congratulations to our newest Caregiver of the Month, Rae S.!
Rae's clients hold her in high regard, appreciating her dedication and care. She goes the extra mile for her clients by actively engaging with them to understand their individual needs and interests, and strives to create meaningful experiences with them by incorporating their preferences into activities and interactions.
Rae loves getting to meet great people and building relationships with them in her role at Comforts of Home - Care! She operates seamlessly with our team and is punctual, considerate, and thoughtful. An all around gem! In her spare time, Rae enjoys gardening, dog training, and cooking.

Did you know? Manitoba offers Self and Family Managed Care to eligible home care recipients!
This program offers money in exchange for home care services, which can be used to hire a care company such as Comforts of Home – Care. By going this route, not only do you have a say about who comes into your home, you can ensure consistency and quality of care.
