The Hispanic Metropolitan Chamber will host its Annual Membership luncheon on Tuesday, June 24th at the Benson Hotel in downtown Portland, Ore.  
Dr. Jeremy Brown, President of Portland Community College (PCC), will address Hispanic Chamber members at this annual event.  Dr. Brown was appointed as PCC president on July 1, 2013 becoming the sixth president since the college's launch in 1961. To read more about Dr. Brown, please click here.
The members of the Hispanic Chamber will elect its Board of Directors during the Annual Membership Luncheon.  We will also be honoring board directors: Gerardo Ochoa and Samuel Hernandez for their service on the board.

The Board of Directors of the Hispanic Chamber recently elected new members to the board of directors, Graciela Cowger, Partner, Stolowitz Ford Cowger, LLP and Stacy Johnson, Operations Coordinator, Fred Meyer Stores.     
Gustavo Cruz, the Hispanic Chamber Board Chair said, “Fred Meyer has been a long time member of the Hispanic Chamber and we are proud to have them represented on our board of directors through Ms. Johnson. Ms. Stacy Johnson brings additional human resource and business expertise to our organization.  We are also very pleased that Ms. Graciela Cowger has joined our board and that she is interested in helping us advocate for a strong educational system that insists on setting and meeting high standards in which our Hispanic community participates wholeheartedly and also helping us provide economic opportunities for Hispanics in our community.  ”  
OREGON'S OFFICE OF SMALL BUSINESS ASSISTANCE
Oregon’s Office of Small Business Assistance is a new, independent voice for entrepreneurs within state government. Small businesses account for 98 percent of Oregon firms, employ over half the state’s workforce and play a vital role in our economy. 

When problems arise, the Small Business Advocate works collaboratively with businesses and state agencies to resolve issues. Like an ombudsman, the Advocate looks for systems that cause repeated problems for small business and makes recommendations for change.
