KU Tuition Increases for 2026 Fiscal Year |
In June, the Kansas Board of Regents set tuition and fee rates for the upcoming fiscal year. KU, along with four other state universities, was granted a bump in tuition.
For the 2026 fiscal year, KU’s in-state undergraduate tuition for the Lawrence campus is set at $5,649 for 15 credit hours a semester, a 3% or $165 increase. For in-state graduate students, tuition is set at $5,698.80 for 12 credit hours a semester, a 5% or $271.20 increase.

Professors Awarded Big 12 Faculty Fellowships |
Six faculty members have been selected to participate in the Big 12 Faculty Fellowship program during the summer and upcoming academic year.
This program allows tenured and tenure-track faculty on the KU Lawrence campus to expand their research connections within the Big 12 Conference. Through the fellowship, faculty may collaborate on projects, consult with faculty and students, offer lectures or symposia, acquire new skills or take advantage of unique archives or laboratory facilities.

| OCRTIX to Hold Series of Info Sessions |
Next Session at 1:30 p.m. Today

The Office of Civil Rights & Title IX is offering a series of introductory presentations for KU staff and faculty. These sessions provide an overview of KU’s policies and procedures related to discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct, along with information about employee reporting obligations.
These sessions are open to anyone who is unable to attend department-level training or who wants to learn more about OCRTIX’s work.

Osher Releases Fall Catalog |
Osher Lifelong Learning Institute’s fall catalog is available online and registration is now open for fall courses and events.
Courses cover arts and entertainment, current events, geography, history, literature, religious studies, and science. Special events include Crimson and Blue Day Mini College, a walking tour of East Lawrence, a day trip to Abilene and other opportunities to explore cultural attractions in northeast Kansas and the greater Kansas City area.
Osher offers noncredit enrichment courses and events. Programs are focused on individuals 50 years or older, but learners of all ages and backgrounds are welcome to attend.

Practice of Qi Gong to be Topic of Next Lunch-N-Learn |
From 12 to 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, an Employee Wellness Lunch-N-Learn session will introduce Qi Gong, a movement, meditation and breathing practice that began in China more than 4,000 years ago. Led by Michelle Heffner Hayes, professor of theatre and dance, the virtual session will talk about the practice, take participants through a brief series of movement exercises and end with a short meditation. Heffner Hayes holds a Level 1 teaching certification in Holden Qi Gong.

July 29 Lunch-N-Learn to Provide Orientation for EAP |
From 12 to 12:45 p.m. July 29, an Employee Wellness Lunch-N-Learn session will give an overview of the Employee Assistance Program.
Offered through the State Employee Health Plan, the EAP offers counseling and mental health services, health coaching and help finding childcare or financial or legal advice. Cassidy White, ComPsych account manager, will explain the benefits available to KU employees and answer questions about the services.
The webinar is available only to KU and KU Medical Center benefits-eligible employees. KU employees can register through My Talent.

| Move-N-Learn Series To Tour Power Plant |
Employee Wellness will travel to the KU Power Plant as part of its Move-N-Learn series. From 12:10 to 12:50 p.m. July 30, Robert Mills, Shop 405 supervisor, will lead a tour through this vital campus space. The power plant delivers steam through eight miles of pipes to 50 buildings across campus for hot water, sterilization, space temperature and humidity control.

HR Pay Unavailable Sunday for Maintenance |
HR Pay will be down for scheduled maintenance on Sunday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. The system will be unavailable for time entry, approvals and other tasks. Time entry and approvals should be completed before the outage window to avoid disruption.

Annual Water Quality Report Available |
Drinking water on the KU Lawrence campus is safe and meets all state or federal water quality standards, a report from the KU Department of Environment, Health & Safety found.
The 2024 Drinking Water Quality Consumer Confidence Report shares the results from KU EHS and City of Lawrence’s analyses of drinking water samples collected from the Lawrence campus and the City of Lawrence water treatment plants during 2024.

| Naismith Drive to Close to Northbound Traffic |
Closure from 6 to 9 a.m. Wednesday
|
Early Wednesday morning, Naismith Drive’s northbound lanes will be closed from 18th Street to Schwegler Drive. Traffic will be diverted to westbound 18th Street, along Irving Hill Road and then connect back to Naismith Drive.
The City of Lawrence will be completing a sewer line project. The road is expected to be closed from 6 to 9 a.m. The southbound lanes will remain open. For the latest on road and parking lot construction projects, visit the Construction Information and Closures webpage.
