Heart Month special edition
| |
At Children's Minnesota, our Cardiovascular team is always focused on being your resource for pediatric heart care. February was heart month and we're excited to bring you a special edition of the Clinician Digest that focuses on our cardiovascular program, people and patients.
Our team treats far more pediatric cardiovascular patients – from fetal detection and treatment through young-adult care – than any other program in the region. Treating more patients is associated with higher-quality care and better outcomes, especially in complex cases.
Since its inception in 1977, we have performed more than 12,000+ heart surgeries.
Annually:
- 450+ heart surgeries
- 500+ patients treated by cath lab
- 11,000+ EKGs performed or interpreted
- 12,000+ echoes performed or interpreted
- 1,300+ fetal hearts scanned for heart abnormalities
