Every student has a voucher of up to $50.00 to spend on artwork materials for Spring 2026, thanks to the SMFA Student Government Association. Complete this form as soon as possible and up to 2 weeks before you need the materials. Funding is distributed on a first come, first serve basis. Once your form is received, SGA will be in touch via email.

The Green Fund provides up to $40,000 for the implementation of sustainability projects and ideas from and for the Tufts community. Applications are welcome in the following categories: Research, Carbon Decarbonization, Education, or Other. Apply to the Green Fund. Deadline: February 4.

Scholarship opportunity for juniors: Interested in pursuing a PhD in the humanities or social sciences? Apply for the Beinecke Scholarship, a nationally competitive award of $5,000 prior to entering graduate school and an additional $30,000 while attending graduate school. Students interested in applying must reach out to Emily Palermo. Review the application requirements. Deadline: February 20. 

Call for art: Currents Magazine is accepting art submissions that meet the theme "All of History."  See @currents.png on Instagram for more details. Deadline: February 16. 

Call for small-scale artwork, open to anyone who feels a connection to the Buddhist tradition. The finished piece will be presented in the spring at SMFA and the Interfaith Center. Read more information and the submission guidelines. Deadline: February 18.

Student Logo Design Challenge for the "Regenerative Energy Initiative." Awards include $1,000 to the winning student or team and $1,000 to the winner’s academic department. Deadline: February 28. 

Two research fellowship opportunities offered by ArQuives, one of the largest 2SLGBTQIA+ archives in the world. The fellowships are open to students, artists, and others interested in using the ArQuives collections to conduct research.

Mural opportunity: Interested in a paid opportunity to design and/or paint a mural for Tufts Medford campus? LABLINES, a collaborative art/science project, is fostering collaborations between Tufts and the SMFA students through a series of comics and murals. The Dean's Research Fund call for proposals is open through Tuesday, March 24. Your proposal of a maximum $1000 will include a compelling, detailed project description and goals, a detailed budget, and a sample of images of your work. Applications are in SlideRoom.

Arts and Society Dialogues: Collective Inquiry Salon Series

Laboratory for Other Worlds is an interdisciplinary exhibition and book project by Patte Loper, Andrew Kemp and Erin Genia linking climate science to social justice. Professors Loper and Kemp will discuss their collaborative work, followed by small group conversations.

Gallery Talks & Reception: Reframing Campus Ecologies

Learn everything you need to know to submit a successful application for the Career Center Internship Grant, which funds ~50 students annually for unpaid summer internships with a $4,500 stipend.

MFA Pathways Internship Information Session

Join MFA staff, including past and current interns, to learn more about the MFA Pathways Internship program. Through semester-long graduate- and undergraduate-level paid internships in departments across the MFA, interns gain hands-on training in specific museum roles, participate in professional development to learn about a range of museum careers and practices, and build professional networks.

Professor of the Practice Jennie Jieun Lee is featured in an Interview Magazine article about the new Aldrich museum exhibition, "Artists Jennie Jieun Lee and Matt Dillon on Doubt, Discipline, and Diaspora" 

Work by Ezri Horne, BA + BFA '22, is included in A Horse With No Name, a group exhibition marking the 2026 Lunar Year of the Horse. On view through February 28 at LaiSun Keane.

Curator and Director Of Collective Futures Fund Laurel V. McLaughlin will lead the conversation and workshop "Painting in a time of Crisis" as part of the Bergman & Salinas residence at MassArt. The event will take place on Wednesday, March 11 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Arnheim Gallery. 

Part-Time Lecturer Timothy Hyunsoo Lee's solo exhibition gwisin baljaguk (ghost prints) opens at Boston City Hall galleries from February 16 through May 8.

Professor of the Practice Jennie Jieun Lee has a new solo museum debut exhibition, Luteal Elements and Grooves at The Aldrich in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The show features new and recent works centered on invention and ceremony as well as kilns, glazes and shirts made during her time teaching at SMFA. The show runs through May 25. There will be a rocket kiln workshop in May.

Juyon Lee, MFA '22, is participating in Forms of Connection, the seventh AIM Biennial at the Bronx Museum of the Arts. The exhibition runs through June 29.
