Dear parents and families,
We started the semester with numerous activities and saw many of your students participating in large numbers—from sorority and fraternity recruitment, to attending the basketball games, to celebrating the annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Commemoration, and to the restart of our Well-being Wednesdays events.
While we are still thawing out from last week’s heavy snowfall and arctic chill, the warmth of our community is felt everywhere, from study groups in the library to the vibrant celebrations taking place across campus.
Here are a few upcoming highlights:
|
-
The annual student-produced Lunar New Year Festival is this coming weekend, February 6-7. This performance is not to be missed and is a wonderful showcase of our students’ talents and hard work.
-
Throughout February, we are hosting programs, speakers and events honoring Black History Month.
-
The Spring 2026 Career Expo is February 10 from 3-6 p.m. in the Athletic Complex. This is another excellent chance for students to meet employers, explore pathways, and sharpen their professional goals. Career coaches are available now for resume reviews and preparation sessions. Please encourage your student to take advantage of those resources.
-
And finally, I am excited to host two book club meetings this semester for Dr. G’s Book Club for Parents & Families, one on March 12 at 6 p.m. and the other March 13 at noon. The March book is The Gift of Failure by Jessica Lahey. I would love to have you in the conversation. Please register in advance.

Thank you for partnering with us and for the care you show your students as they navigate college life.
|
Warmly,
Anna “Dr. G” Gonzalez
