Education Abroad Fair

Representatives from over 20 Tufts and external programs will attend our Global Education Fair on Wednesday, September 14, at 11 a.m.2 p.m. in Alumnae Lounge. Join us to learn more about semester- and year-long education abroad programs, our short-term programs in France (winter) and Italy (summer), and the Global Research Assistant Program (GRAP). First- and second-years may be particularly interested in this fair, but there is something for all class years and majors.

Young Climate Activists and the Culture of Cultivated Optimism

Young climate activists have brought new energy to the climate movement, but how do they manage the complex array of emotions that arise from the climate crisis and their activism? On Thursday, September 15, at 12 noon–1 p.m. in Curtis Hall Multipurpose Room, unpack this issue and more with Ann Ward, who is finishing her ethnographic dissertation at Brandeis University about young climate activists. Free pizza will be served. Co-sponsored by Environmental Studies, Office of Sustainability, and Tisch College.

First Steps Information Session

On Friday, September 16, at 1:302:30 p.m., in the Dowling Hall Milmore Room, join Tufts Global Education staff to learn about the first steps to study abroad.

You are invited to hear from Reggie Brothers, E81, CEO of BigBear.ai this Friday, September 16, at 6 p.m. at the Cummings Center. Take a tour of the new building and enjoy food and drinks. Announcements and Updates

Waitlist Reminder

Waitlists will be purged and turned off September 13, a week before the fall semester add deadline, to provide adequate time to enroll in other courses if you are unable to move off the waitlist. We understand you are still hoping to get into the course(s) for which you are waitlisted. We want to be sure you are being proactive in both determining whether or not you are able to move off a waitlist into a class AND have a back-up plan in case that does not happen. Please remember that having access to a class Canvas page is not the same as being enrolled. Waitlisted students have access to Canvas, but if you do not see your enrollment in SIS, you are not yet enrolled in the class. Students still on the waitlist should speak to their professor about the likelihood of enrollment and pursue a backup plan as needed. After waitlists are purged, any student not officially enrolled in the class in SIS will lose access to Canvas.

COVID Isolation Policies

If you test positive for COVID, you will need to complete an isolation period. You can find all of the information you need to know on the University's coronavirus website and at go.tufts.edu/isolation.

Academic Reminders

This week, review your course syllabi. Familiarize yourself with all attendance policies and deadlines. Ask professors for clarification if any policies are unclear.
Reminder: September 20 is the last day to ADD classes!
First-year A&S students: Join the Senior Academic Advisors on Thursday, September 15, at 10:3011:30 a.m. for a workshop on Advising and Academic Deadlines. See Academic Essentials for details and Zoom link. The workshop will be recorded for anyone unable to attend.
Need advising support? Reach out to your advising team! A&S students can also visit virtual drop-in advising for help with any quick questions.
