October was a productive month!

As part of the onboarding process, I have been meeting with several departments throughout Metro government to learn more about what they are doing every day.  I have been very impressed with the passion each of them have for their job, and their ever present love for our city.
I met with Mayor Megan Barry for a wonderful discussion about our District.  Her open door policy, authenticity and thoughtfulness will serve us all very well.

Board of Directors at the end of the calendar year, I will be staying on as the Farmers Market Manager.  Look for updates on how to be involved next year.  The Amqui Station Farmers Market will return Sundays 12-3pm May- August 2016

National PFLAG Convention

I had the honor of welcoming about 500 people from across the country to Nashville for the PFLAG Convention. Betty DeGenerous was surprised that she had to order grits special because all they had on the menu was hashbrowns.  We had a nice talk about the late Kitty Well's love of the original Shoney's on Gallatin Pike and how it's going to be updated soon -- we'll see if they have grits on the menu.
A representative of the US State Department was present and has invited me to participate in the U. S. Speakers Program.

Madison has been enjoying a Neighborhood Health Clinic for some time now at  601 W. Due West Avenue Ph. (615) 227-3000 Monday-Friday 8am-10pm *Also Open Saturday 8am-4pm
