Farewell, Harry!One summer long ago, a young, beginner guitar player came to summer camp here at School of Rock Silver Spring and the rest is, well, history. Harry has played more shows than we can count and has truly done it all. He has been a steady fixture in the school throughout his tenure as both a student and leader. He has taken on every solo, every song challenge and every musical mountain to truly achieve guitar god status among his peers. As a member of House Band he has showcased the best of what this program has to offer and we are thriled that he made the School of Rock Allstars this summer and will be finishing off his time with us touring and playing with the best of the best. It's been a joy to have you in our program Harry - thanks for all the rock n' roll and best of luck as you head off to college to continue your music studies. Check out Harrry this weekend at the Pie Shop and next Saturday at 3 Stars Brewing for what will be the performances of a lifetime.

Farewell Carl!Carl the incredible House Band member since 2017, team player, and master of the keyboards and vocals will be graduating School of Rock and headed off to college this Fall. We are so happy that Carl auditioned and was accepted into the Allstars program this summer and will be spending his final days at School of Rock touring with the best of the best from around the world. Congratulations to Carl! Carl has brought a special passion for music that infuses everyone around him and we're gonna miss his keen ear. Thank you for your amazing performances in every show, memorable culture contributions, and outstanding musicianship. It has been a pleasure working with you the last two years. You can also catch Carl this weekend at the Pie Shop and next Saturday at 3 Stars Brewing.

Make Music Day 2019
School of Rock Silver Spring is proud to participate for the second year in Make Music Day June 21st, 2019.
Last year we rocked out to David Bowie's Rebel, Rebel outside of the school and it was a blast. This year you are invited again to Make Music Day. This is a free celebration of music around the world on June 21st. Launched in 1982 in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in more than 800 cities in 120 countries.
This year, Silver Spring SOR will join the celebration with a live performance of We Are The Champions by Queen. It will be a Facebook Live event and in the spirit of the day, we will set up on the sidewalk in front of the school at 12pm and jam a bit before the live event at 1:30PM. All our students who would like to be a part of this will be asked to learn a part on We Are The Champions prior to the event so they can participate.

We will start the festivities at 12PM and the live broadcast will be at 1:30PM.
It's gonna be a party to remember! We're having a pizza party with cold refreshments. This isn't just for students. Parents please come join the fun and MAKE MUSIC WITH US! We can't wait to show the world how School of Rock makes music!

Woodstock 50th Anniversary CelebrationWe are partnering with Blumont Vineyards for a day of musical celebration of Woodstock. Enjoy a great day of music while taking in the stunning vistas, delicious wine and special menu for the day at the amazing Blumont Vineyard in Loudoun County. All Performance Program students will get to participate as a free, extra show. More details to come, but mark your calendars now!

Summer Show Season Sign Up is NOW!We've got a very special summer on tap for our Performance Program students. This summer, the students will build their own set lists, work on their production and then compete in an epic Battle of the Bands! So inception thru to execution. Lots of fun to be had and a ton to learn about all the choices that go into delivering a great show. Hurry! We're about to do the casting and you don't want to miss out!

House Band Auditions - Sunday, August 25th
Hey everyone! Neel here! I know that a lot of you are chomping at the bit to show us that you are House Band material, so we will be hosting an special round of auditions on AUGUST 25th! Please save this date and start working with your instructors on the material you will be performing! Please prepare one Classic Rock song and one song of your choice! If you don't know by now then you should know that we are here ALL SUMMER LONG! We have all our regular lessons and programs PLUS some super fun camps that up the ROCK! Summer is the perfect time to spend more time on your musical growth.

We offer GUARANTEED MAKE UP LESSONS in the summer and work around your schedule.
