Updates from Judy K. Orr, Executive Director
|
Dear friends,
Across Middle Tennessee, we’re seeing more headlines about layoffs and rising costs—and we’re feeling it in real time. Every day, more of our neighbors are turning to Catholic Charities for urgent help with rent, food, mental health support, and job assistance.
At Catholic Charities, we walk with individuals and families through their hardest moments, offering emergency assistance, emotional support, and employment services. We do this work because we believe every person has inherent dignity and deserves a path to stability—and to hope.
As we approach the end of our fiscal year on June 30, your support is more critical than ever. A gift today will go toward helping families facing real and immediate needs.
Thank you for being part of our mission to provide hope to those along the margins, regardless of their faith or background.

Kaleidoscope 2025: A Joyful Day of Building Bridges
|
|
|
On June 14, Catholic Charities hosted Kaleidoscope 2025—an inspiring day of community, culture, and connection.
Despite a few passing rain showers, neighbors from across Middle Tennessee gathered for music, food, storytelling, and shared purpose. The event was a powerful reminder that we are stronger when we come together.
Presented in partnership with Habitat for Humanity and The Y, Kaleidoscope is part of the national Team Up Project, an initiative by Interfaith America that fosters belonging and bridges across differences.
We’re deeply grateful to every performer, vendor, volunteer, and guest who made this celebration possible—and to Silvia Castaneda of WKRN News 2 for emceeing with such warmth and energy. View the event gallery here.

From Shelter Housing to a Safe, Stable Home
|
After fleeing an abusive relationship over a year ago, Maria, a mother of four, spent eight difficult months in shelter housing. With limited resources and overwhelming responsibilities, she faced setback after setback. But Maria never gave up.
With help from our programs, she recently moved into a permanent home—a safe, stable space where she and her children can begin to heal and rebuild. This move marks a new chapter of independence and hope for her family.

Looking for a meaningful way to give back? Catholic Charities has an immediate need for volunteers to help digitize paper files—a vital task that keeps our work running smoothly. If you can commit several hours this summer, we’d love to hear from you.
|
Your generosity makes a difference in the lives of people in need like Maria and the 26,000+ neighbors in need we serve annually.
God bless you for walking the walk of your faith and answering the Gospel call to care for our neighbors.
With deepest gratitude,
|
