CalABLE Deputy Executive Director, Anne Osborne

Dear CalABLE Community,

My name is Anne Osborne, and I am the Deputy Executive Director for CalABLE. I am thrilled to be leading CalABLE into 2024, and we have many great things planned. This year, we are looking forward to announcing a new class of CalABLE ambassadors, attending events like the Abilities Expo in Los Angeles, providing financial literacy tools, and more!

As you think of your own plans for 2024, remember that CalABLE is here to help you. We want our account holders to dream big and make strides towards things like buying a home, saving for retirement, creating an emergency fund, going on vacation, and so much more! We hope that with your CalABLE account, you can make your dreams reality.

One great way to achieve your goals is to maximize your CalABLE account. We are thrilled that the annual contribution limit is increased to $18,000 for 2024. We want to encourage you to start saving now, so that you can see your account potentially grow over the year.

I have three tips to help you save for the things you really want and need this year:

1. Create your gifting page.

2. Select recurring contributions.

3. Set up direct deposits of payroll or Social Security payments.

By utilizing these tips, your 2024 goals could be one step closer. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact our customer service center at 833-225-2253. They will be happy to assist you.

ASPN will host a federal advocacy briefing for organizational partners on its current legislative priorities regarding ABLE accounts.

Since the passage of the ABLE Act in 2014, Congress has enhanced ABLE programs to make them more flexible and useful for eligible Americans with disabilities. As a network of state ABLE plan administrators, ASPN supports several key updates currently under consideration on Capitol Hill.

ASPN invites advocacy allies in the disability community to join us for a virtual briefing hosted by ASPN Chair, Pennsylvania State Treasurer Stacy Garrity and leaders of the ASPN Federal, Legal & State Affairs Committee.
