Plans Underway for International Education Week
International Education Week (IEW), which takes place each November, is an initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education that draws attention to the value of international education. Miami University observes IEW annually with a wide range of activities and events in order to celebrate the diverse array of cultures on our campus and provide students, faculty, and staff the opportunity for global engagement on our campus.
The planning committee has been busy! Events are still being finalized, but in the meantime, we are inviting you to help us recognize colleagues and student creativity in the following ways:
Latin American and Caribbean UniDiversity Festival Announces Schedule
The UniDiversity Festival is a collaborative initiative to promote diversity and inclusion in our community, and it is also a chance to learn more about the valuable contributions of the Latin American, Latino, and Caribbean peoples and cultures. Every year the UniDiversity festival is part of a month full of activities encompassed within the National Hispanic Latino American Heritage Month at Miami University, and Oxford Ohio. This community event is a portal for intercultural connections and civic engagement.
We've recently added the schedule of events to our web page. With both familiar faces and new performers (including dance lessons!), this year's event promises to be amazing!
Starting a New Semester, Looking Ahead
As their Oxford counterparts moved in to campus earlier this month, our new MUDEC students were also settling in to their home in Luxembourg. The MUDEC staff hosted several orientation activities to introduce students to the sights and sounds of this beautiful region of Europe.
In case you'd like to be part of this Miami tradition in the future, we are excited to report that Summer and Fall 2023 applications are now open. Info sessions, both in-person and virtual, are scheduled for August and September.
