| Parent & Family Spring Day! |
We had so much fun last year that we’re doing it again!
Join us on Sunday, February 22, 2026, for Parent & Family Spring Day, an event designed to bring our UofM community together and kick off game day in style. This year’s family mingle will take place from 9:00 to 10:30 AM on the historic Beale Street, just a half-block from the FedEx Forum.
Guests will enjoy delicious foods, unlimited non-alcoholic beverages, and access to a cash bar, along with trivia battles, door prizes, a photo booth, and more!
Afterwards, we’ll take the short walk together to the FedEx Forum to cheer on the Memphis Tigers Men’s Basketball team as they take on the University of Alabama at Birmingham with an 11:00 AM tipoff.
Online registration is required and more details will be shared soon. Mark your calendars and get ready for another unforgettable day with your Tiger Family!

Tiger Talks are interactive sessions designed specifically for parents and families to connect with University of Memphis faculty, staff, and students while getting answers to your most important questions. Hosted by Parent and Family Services, these conversations offer an inside look at campus life, academics, and the resources available to support your student’s success.
Parents and family members can submit questions ahead of time or ask them live in the chat during each session. Join us this spring for Tiger Talks and stay informed, connected, and engaged.

| PFA “Parent Fund” Scholarship |
The PFA Scholarship application is now open through February 1! The scholarship is open to all students whose family members are active members of the Parent and Family Association (PFA).
If you are a member, encourage your student to take advantage of this opportunity to receive additional support toward their educational goals. Not a member? It's not too late to join. CHANGE THE WAY I SAY TO INCLUDE - LIKE ITS A GREAT TOGETHER TO GET WITH YOUR STUDENT - This is a great time to sit down together, review the requirements, and encourage them to submit a strong application and essay before the deadline.

Save time and money by choosing the Send Some Love Bundle, which includes one Hugs From Home and one Finals Care Package. Bundles can be purchased now. Choose to have the package shipped to your student for a small fee, or let them enjoy a free on-campus pickup during scheduled distribution days.
Prefer to send just a Hug From Home? You can also purchase them separately for the Spring semester.

| Keep Our Tigers Warm This Winter! |
The Office of First-Gen is launching a Tigers Care coat drive to support students in need this winter. If you have a warm coat to donate, please help us stock the UofM Career Closet so our students can stay warm as they move between classes. They are also always accepting professional attire for students preparing for interviews and career opportunities. Every contribution makes a difference!

| Stay Informed with UofM Alert |
The University of Memphis uses UofM Alert, powered by Everbridge, to quickly notify the campus community in the event of an emergency. This system delivers important updates within seconds, helping you stay aware and informed. Parents and family members are encouraged to download the Everbridge mobile app to receive these safety notifications directly.
Now is the perfect time to make sure your student is prepared for potential weather-related emergencies. From supplies to communication plans, a little preparation goes a long way. Learn more about how to help your student stay ready here.

| Wellness & Support at the Student Health Center |
The UofM Student Health Center (SHC) provides outpatient care, medical testing services, health education, and health promotion to students, faculty, and staff on campus. Students may be seen during the semester in which they are enrolled.
Most services are offered free of charge. Appointments must be requested in the student's MyPatient Portal. A current University ID must be presented for admission.

The University of Memphis Counseling Center encourages students to visit the Relaxation Zone located in the UC 2nd Floor Involvement Zone. This space provides “relaxation stations” where students can unplug, practice self-care, and unwind.
If you are experiencing a crisis emergency during business hours (Monday to Friday 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM) please call 901.678.2068, visit 214 Wilder Tower, or enter our virtual waiting room between 10:00-3:00.
If this is a crisis emergency after hours contact the Tiger Care Line at 901.678.2068 and dial 2 to speak to a crisis counselor.

| Disability Resources for Students (DRS) |
Disability Resources for Students (DRS) provides, arranges, and coordinates academic accommodations and support services for qualified students with disabilities. The goal is to ensure that every student has full access to their academic experience at the University of Memphis.
To receive accommodations and services, students must first register with DRS and submit current, appropriate medical and/or psycho-educational documentation.

| Spring 2026 All-Majors Career Fair - March 25, 2026 |
The University of Memphis will host its Spring University-Wide All-Majors Career Fair from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the University Center Ballroom.
This event gives students the chance to connect with major employers, explore full-time career paths, and learn about internship opportunities across a wide range of industries. It’s open to all current UofM students and alumni with an Alumni TigerLink account.
Business professional attire is expected.
Encourage your student to attend and take an important step toward their future career success!

Tiger SmartStart Program: Quick Facts
|
Upon registering for courses, undergraduate students are automatically enrolled in the program, and the TSS fee will be billed to the student's University account. Students can opt-out NOW through Friday, January 30, 2026; however, refund amounts follow the University's USBS schedule.

| TriO: Helping Your Student Reach Their Goals |
As your student gears up for the Spring semester, the TRiO Student Support Services (SSS) program provides eligible students with academic, social, and financial support to help them thrive. TRiO participants are twice as likely to graduate compared with their peers, and all services are free. Students must meet at least one of the following:

Tiger Scholarship Manager is the University of Memphis’ online system for departmental and private scholarships. It offers a quick and easy way for your student to apply for additional funding to support their educational goals.
Encourage your student to complete or update their general scholarship application and apply for recommended scholarships by February 1, 2026!

| First Scholars Scholarship |
If your student is a first-generation college student, they may be eligible for the First Scholars Scholarship! To apply, students must be admitted to the University of Memphis and have parents with no more than two years of education beyond high school and no postsecondary degree. They will also need to complete the First Scholars application in Tiger Scholarship Manager by March 13 and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at fafsa.ed.gov.

| Emerging Leaders Scholarship Program |
Emerging Leaders
The Emerging Leaders Scholarship is open to first-year students who want to develop their leadership skills at the University of Memphis. The application is now open for Fall 2026 freshmen.
Parents and families are encouraged to share this opportunity with high school seniors who meet the eligibility requirements: a minimum cumulative high school GPA of 3.0 and an ACT score of 21 or higher. Eligible students should apply through Tiger Scholarship Manager.
Important Dates:
Application deadline for Fall 2026 freshmen: February 1, 2026
Interviews: Third week of February 2026 (exact date TBA)

| Fall 2026 Housing Application Dates Plus A New On-Campus Residence Hall!
|
Current residents and returning students: The Fall 2026 housing application opens Monday, January 12, 2026, at 10 AM. New and transfer students: Housing application opens Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 10 AM.
Priority will be given to upperclassmen, athletes, and nursing students. Housing costs can be conveniently billed to student accounts, making it easier for financial aid and scholarships to apply.
New Resident Hall Alert!
