Dear Student,
As we have shared earlier in the week, the tragic loss of Madie Nicpon has profoundly saddened many in our community.
For those of you who wish to participate virtually, Madie’s family asked us to share that her Mass of Christian burial will be live streamed on Saturday October 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. from The Church of Presentation in New Jersey. In collaboration with her family and friends, we will hold a celebration of Madie’s life here at Tufts later in the semester.
Please know that the full resources of Tufts University support services are available to you. The University Chaplaincy, Counseling and Mental Health (CMHS), and Dean of Student Affairs Office are all available to support you. CMHS counseling staff are available for walk in appointments all week between noon and 1:00 p.m. daily, continuing through next week. If you or someone you know needs more immediate support, please reach out 24/7 to either the Counselor-on-Call or the Dean-on-Call at 617-627-3360. Faculty and staff are reminded that support is available to them through the Tufts University Employee Assistance Program.
Please continue to support one another as we grieve both for Madie and for other lost loved ones who may now be uppermost in your thoughts during this difficult time.
Wishing you peace,
Camille Lizarríbar, JD, PhD
Dean of Student Affairs and Chief Student Affairs Officer for AS&E
