In July our club was visited by Terry King, English's and German FA Tutor, who shared his decade+ experience mentoring EPL academy clubs including Chelsea, Crystal Palace and (currently) Leicester City. A huge thank you to Terry for his mentorship to our players and coaches.  

Over the last few weeks many of our club's nominated Select players and coaches have traveled the world to represent the Best of the Best with players from across Surf's 55+ clubs at internationally renowned tournaments. Congratulations on their success and participation in the Select Program experience unique to Surf Nation!

We look forward to the remaining summer camps in August including this week's Players Camp, Goal Scorer's and Lil' Surfers.

Skills Clinics for boys and girls 2016-2018 will resume in October. Clinics include 2 weekly skills sessions and a Friday scrimmage. Look for details in TeamSnap for Surf Players. Online registration for non-club players coming soon.

NEW! Our official Lil Surfer Recreation League launches officially in September. Registration available on the Lil Surfers Program dedicated webpage for boys and girls age 4-6 interested in the FUNdamentals of soccer. 

We now turn our focus to our upcoming Surf Classic Tournament August 23-24. Signup Genius for mandatory volunteering will be launched after August 9th when brackets are finalized. We need all hands on deck and ask for everyone to sign up ASAP for their commitment. More details are below. I look forward to everyone's participation!

Players and coaches have been representing San Clemente Surf and Surf Nation around the world at elite tournaments. Highlights over the last month:

- Zach Clark traveled to Redmond, Washington to play in this year's Best of the Best Bracket Surf Cup Northwest with the Surf Select Boys 2008 National Team.

- Willy Avila and the Surf Select Boys 2014 National (White) team traveled abroad to play in this year's prestigious O'Neils Foyle Cup in Northern Ireland. Willy scored multiple goals over the 5-day event..

- Lucas Herson and the Surf Select Boys 2014 National (Blue) team competed in Surf Cup 2025 in San Diego reaching the semi-finals round against top players from all over the world.

- Coach Leon Zavalkov led multiple Surf Select Boys and Girls teams this summer.Most recently Leon led the Surf Select Boys 2012 National team at the Super Cup in Northern Ireland.

The final two summer camps are scheduled the second full week of August will see the return of Goal Scorer's Camp (ages 7-12) and Lil Surfers Summer Camp (ages 4-6). For full details visit, click here.

Introducing Surf's new Lil' Surfers Recreation League for 2019-2021 boys and girls. Players can form their own team 4v4 team (age group 2019/20) or 3v3 (age group 2020/21) and optionally bring their own coach. Lil Surfers recreation program is a professional 10-week curriculum designed for young players including weekly skills sessions followed by Saturday morning games in San Clemente - all led by local top Surf Club coaches. Free weekly clinics continue on Tuesdays from 2-2:45 at Jim Johnson Memorial Park. Share with neighbors, friends and family as we #GIVEBACK introducing the love of soccer to local boys and girls. All Lil' Surfers must register once to attend the weekly clinics.
