Friends,
One of my favorite Young Life songs says, "Let there be light shining in the shadows; let there be hope holding us close; let there be love healing what is broken. He is the Light that brings us home."
We try our creative best to get that message across to kids. In the last week we've had costume clubs, Fall Fests, a "Nacho Bedtime" party, tailgates, and Sonic outings.
All these things are for one purpose: to get to kids' hearts and help them see that the answers they seek are found in knowing the God who loves them like crazy. So, in the midst of all the fun, we have also heard numerous stories about broken relationships, deep-rooted fears, questions about God, anger, depression and addictions. The longer I am involved with this ministry the more I realize how much of life is fear-based for so many people, and especially our adolescents.
This week, please pray for our adolescent friends. Their fear is real. Pray that they come to understand that "perfect love drives out fear." (1 John 4:18)
For God, who said, "Let there be light in the darkness," has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. (2 Corinthians 4:6)
We are deeply grateful for your partnership in reaching for the lives of adolescents.
God's Best,

Robyn Stutts
Metro Director
