For more than 20 years, we have served over 300,000 children, youth and their families in the Bayview, Fillmore/Western Addition and city-wide. We have created the MAGIC 2025 End of Year Report to highlight our work from this past year. You may view the report on our website, www.magic-sf.org or by clicking here for the PDF version. We would like to thank our partners for their ongoing support, and look forward to providing more MAGIC in the years to come!
For 20 years, MAGIC (BMAGIC & Mo’MAGIC) has been building partnerships to support youth and families in the Bayview and Fillmore neighborhoods by keeping kids out of the criminal system and connected to opportunity. From backpack giveaways to literacy workshops and job resources, MAGIC helps youth thrive. Support the mission.

Your generosity makes it possible for us to continue to financially host our events year-round.

On Thursday, March 26th we hosted our annual Easter EGG-stravaganza event at Ella Hill Hutch Community Center. The youth in our collaborative had fun doing various easter themed activities, including participating in an easter egg hunt and were able to meet the easter bunny. Special thanks to the Social Committee for planning the event, the Mo’MAGIC teen interns who ran the activity stations, and to Jayden, an intern with the Public Defender’s office, for making a special appearance as the easter bunny. Have a wonderful spring break and Easter; we can’t wait to see everyone this summer!
The MAGIC Programs hosted another successful Black and White Ball, on Friday, February 27th at USF's Fromm Hall. This year, we celebrated the 100th Anniversary of Black History Month. Our youth did an amazing job in their performances, which included dancing, singing, and reciting poetry. We heard inspirational speeches from Public Defender Mano Raju, District 5 Supervisor Bilal Mahmood, Dr. Saidah Leatutufu-Burch, and Bayview historian Oscar James. Special thank you to Tanner Zion and Maziah Hamilton for being the emcees for the night, Malik Seneferu for the unveiling of his painting "The Great Migration", USF for letting us use their space, and to the Social Committee for planning this event out. We could not have pulled this off without all of you.
On Saturday, February 14th, we had the honor of participating in the 6th Annual Black History Month Parade in Bayview. We marched from the Ruth Williams Opera House to the Southeast Community Center, where organizations hosted resource tables and allowed the community to support local, Black-owned businesses. This event helped to create a safe, uplifting and culturally relevant space for all community members to celebrate Black History Month, and the MAGIC Programs look forward to participating in the years to come. Special thanks to @burgesevents for hosting another wonderful event!
On Saturday, December 13th, the African American Arts and Culture Complex hosted their annual Wakanda Winter Wonderland. MAGIC supported the event by distributing over 500 gifts and toys to youth and their families for this holiday season. Special thanks and gratitude to the African American Arts and Culture Complex for a joyous event and their continued partnership, the Magic Zone teens for volunteering their time at the AAACC, to Mr. and Mrs. Clause @Malik93761 for bringing the holiday spirit to Ella Hill Hutch, and to all the youth and families who came out to Wakanda Winter Wonderland.

On Thursday, December 18th, we partnered up with the Jewish Community High School to hold our annual Interfaith event. Our kiddos had fun decorating cookies, making customized ornaments, learning how to spin a dreidel, and building community with one another. Thank you to Magic Zone's K-5 cohort & our teen interns for doing a great job speaking about Kwanzaa & Christmas and shoutout to the JCHS students for highlighting the origins of Hanukkah

On Wednesday, December 10th, the MAGIC Programs hosted our 20th annual Holiday Food Box program. We supplied 700 chickens and fresh produce bags to households in the Fillmore/Western Addition, Hayes Valley, and Bayview areas. We would like to thank and express our gratitude to our partners and volunteers from Collective Impact, Bi-rite, Kaiser Permanente, Public Defender Mano Raju, and SFPDs Northern Station, for their ongoing support and for helping to stomp out food insecurity during the holiday season.
