Fulbright U.S. Student In-Person Information Sessions


Graduating seniors and recent alumni are invited to attend one of our information sessions that will highlight opportunities open to applicants in the Fulbright U.S. Student competition for academic year 2023-2024.

Critical Language Scholarship Finalist and Alternates Named

In January, four Miami students were named as semi-finalists for the Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program, an intensive overseas language and cultural immersion program for American students enrolled at U.S. colleges and universities. We are excited to announce that Brendan Morrison has been offered the CLS as finalist, with Navkiran Chima, Victoria Lopez Rangel, and Liam Martin selected as alternates.

CLAAS Global Readiness Certificate Cohort Announced

Global Initiatives is pleased to introduce the latest Global Readiness Certificate Cohort, consisting of 11 students from the College of Liberal Arts and Applied Science.
The Global Readiness Certificate (GRC) combines Miami coursework, co-curricular activities, and community involvement focused on global readiness.

Teach at MUDEC

The Miami University Dolibois European Center (MUDEC) is pleased to invite proposals from qualified faculty interested in a teaching appointment at the Center in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for the 2023-2024 academic year. The Center is housed in a renovated 15th- century château in Luxembourg’s third largest city of Differdange.
Scholarly enrichment and professional development for the faculty and staff of the University is a core mission of MUDEC. To this end, MUDEC offers two full-year appointments for the 2023-24 academic year.

Apply for Summer International Travel Funding

The Hampton Fund supports faculty to gain international experience that will contribute in a significant way to internationalizing the learning process at Miami University by adding a global perspective to the conduct of scholarship and classroom instruction. Proposals that impact JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion) and/or have direct impact on Global Miami Plan (GMP) courses are particularly encouraged.
Up to three awards of $2500 will be awarded for travel in summer 2022. Interested full-time, permanent faculty are invited to submit a proposal (~500-750 words) by Friday, April 1. Questions can be directed to Global Initiatives.

Save the Date! Annual César Chavéz Celebration

The César Chávez Day Celebration at Miami University is celebrated during spring semester each year. This year's keynote speaker is Leo Calderon, former Director of Latino Student Affairs at Northern Kentucky University. Mr. Calderon will speak on "Sustaining a System Change through Community-Based Capacity Building," followed by a panel discussion and reception.

English Language Learner Writing Center at MacMillan Hall

The English Language Learner Writing Center (ELLWC) provides one-on-one consulting to undergraduate and graduate multilingual student writers. This semester, the ELLWC has expanded its outreach to the International Student Center at MacMillan Hall. Students are invited to visit the ELLWC website to learn more and make an appointment.

So You're Thinking of a Global Experience? Let's Chat...!

Join Global Initiatives and the Career Center on Apr. 5 at noon in 212 MacMillan for some global treats and a chat about global experiences! Learn how to prepare, what you need to know, and DEI abroad. ILR registration for our spring semester is now open! Registration closes on March 22nd, and classes begin on March 28th.
Spring 2022 will be a semester to remember as we commemorate our 25th anniversary. Join us this semester as we celebrate a quarter-century of Engaging, Enriching, and Enlightening our community.
