Amy Stern retiring as CEO on June 12; Cara Pace, COO to succeed her

We are so grateful for Amy's dedicated leadership over the past 32 years at United Hospice. Amy has been a true advocate for hospice services and thanks to her guidance we opened the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in 2012. We wish her good health and much happiness in her retirement.

Nancy Cutler, a journalist who covers People & Policy from The Journal News recently interviewed Amy and Cara to discuss the change in leadership coming soon and how United Hospice is handling safety of both patients and staff during this pandemic. The article also focuses on how hospice care can help coronavirus patients stay connected to their loved ones since so many are unable to do so while in the hospital and in nursing homes. The Hospice articles appeared in The Journal News on May 1 and The Times Herald Record on May 4.

Thank you to our Front Line Staff

Our dedicated and skilled front line staff continue to provide hospice care throughout this pandemic and will continue to do so in the future. We are grateful that they are able to care for their patients and their families in person and to provide compassionate care when it is needed more than ever.
We also want to thank our administrative staff who have worked tirelessly remotely and in the office to ensure the organization continues to function seamlessly during this crisis.
Our volunteers should be applauded for their willingness to volunteer, some in person and many remotely to help our staff, patients and families as needed.
We are very fortunate that our staff and volunteers are committed to our mission of honoring life, giving care and bringing comfort to those who need it most in our community.  #Rockland_Strong #TheLastFrontLine
Free Bereavement Services available in June
United Hospice will be offering free bereavement sessions during the month of June, for Rockland and Orange County residents who have suffered a loss due to COVID-19. The bereavement sessions will be individual telehealth sessions for adults. Anyone who is interested in this service should contact our Manager of Bereavement Services at 845-634-4974 or email bereavement@unitedhospiceinc.org.

At United Hospice, "Peace is what we bring to life, Comfort is what we bring to death."

The truth is, we have been providing peace and comfort for over 30 years and we intend to be doing so long after this pandemic passes.

We Need Your Help!

There has been an increased need for services and increased expenses keeping our front line safe with personal protective equipment. We have been and are accepting COVID-19 patients; treating nearly 100 patients, 7 days per week in their homes and at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence.
Hospice services are as important now as they ever were. We promise every dollar raised will be directed to the COVID-19 Crisis Campaign and it will make YOU part of something important.

There are many ways to give a gift to United Hospice:
