"This semester I had the opportunity to intern as the Global Communications and Media Relations intern for the Council on Foreign Relations. As an intern, I work directly with the global communications team and help manage press requests for experts at CFR, help write headlines for news segments featuring experts, research media outlets, and contribute to internal news projects. As someone who aspires to work in communications in the international relations and foreign affairs sector, interning at CFR has helped me get a better understanding of top world issues and the role that think tanks play in providing expert insights and research."

Global Fellowship in Urban Practice

Deadline Extended to Monday, November 27th!

Managed by the Urban Democracy Lab, the Gallatin Global Fellowship in Urban Practice (GGFUP) provides funding of up to $5,000 and support for up to 10 advanced undergraduate and Master’s students to pursue extended, community-engaged, practice-based research projects in partnership with BIPOC and immigrant-led urban social justice organizations.

Our program revolves around our deep and long standing relationships with BIPOC and Immigrant-led organizations doing amazing social justice work in New York and around the country. We work with students the semester before they go to prepare them for the experience and fully fund their time so that we can all remain accountable to the organizations we work with.

American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) Fellowship Opportunity

Application due: December 4, 2023
Zoom interviews: Week of December 11,
Start date: Week of January 1
End date: March-April, 2024

AFAR is seeking a Winter-Spring Fellow for thier Clarence Pearson Fellowship in Public Health and Aging. The fellow will support AFAR’s Amplifying Geroscience initiative which aims to educate federal policymakers on aging research.
The fellowship offers a $2500 stipend for 2-3 months; the position will work hybrid remote and in-person.

Fall Competitive Professional Reimbursement

Students are reimbursed for expenses related to professional development activities completed before the application deadlines. It is not a scholarship to fund professional development activities before attendance. The selection committee will determine who is reimbursed by assessing the requested application materials. The committee is the GSO President, Vice President, and Treasurer. The GSO advisor audits all decisions.
