Grant for Inclusive Downtown Events Now Open
In partnership with HSL Properties, the Downtown Tucson Partnership (DTP) is offering grants of up to $2,000 to support events and programs that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in Downtown Tucson.
Grants will be awarded to at least ten eligible events happening within the Downtown Tucson Business Improvement District (BID) between February 1 and June 30, 2025. Businesses, individuals, and organizations planning community events, performances or pop-ups downtown are encouraged to apply.
Past recipients include Tucson Tome Gnome, Chinese Chorizo Festival, Agave Heritage Festival and Reveille Men’s Chorus, among others, showcasing the program’s commitment to a diverse range of events. Learn more and apply here.

Last Call to Submit a Haiku
Time is running out to submit your entry for this year’s Haiku Hike! The deadline to enter is Monday, February 3, by the end of the day. All submissions will be judged by Tucson’s Poet Laureate, and 20 winning haiku will be displayed downtown and announced on the first day of spring, March 20. As a Safety Supervisor, Alfredo plays a vital role in overseeing evening Ambassador shifts, coordinating with law enforcement, private security, merchants, and property managers to ensure downtown remains a welcoming and safe place for all.

A Beloved Old Pueblo Tradition: The Gem Show
The gem show, formerly known as the Tucson Gem, Mineral & Fossil Showcase, has once again made its trip around the sun. From February 1 – 16, more than 50 gem show locations will take over Tucson, bringing dazzling displays of minerals, fossils, jewelry and special finds. The largest gem and mineral show in the world, the Tucson Gem and Mineral Show® is celebrating its 70th anniversary and sets up at the Tucson Convention Center from February 13 – 16.

A Day at the Alfie
Have you visited the University of Arizona Alfie Norville Gem & Mineral Museum yet? It’s one of Tucson’s most unique museums, located at the Pima County Historic Courthouse. Tomorrow, February 1, attend the annual "A Day at the Alfie" event to kick off the gem show season! Enjoy free admission to the museum, with activities taking place in the courtyard throughout the day.

Tucson Loves LA: A Fire Relief Benefit Show
On Friday, February 7, from 6 – 9:30 p.m., Hotel Congress and Arizona Arts Live present "Tucson Loves LA" on the Hotel Congress Plaza stage. Featuring a large lineup of local artists and special guests, all net proceeds will benefit MusiCares' relief efforts for musicians impacted by the LA fires. Suggested donations are $20 in advance, $25 day of, and you can get your tickets here.
