Optometry is one of the top-rated professions in terms of job satisfaction, regardless of what organization or media source is performing the survey.  Although the profession does little to promote itself we greatly benefit from the outstanding role models who share their passion for the profession with others, often inspiring them to pursue optometry.  No individual typifies this better than Dr. Greg Leet. see more
UMSL College of Optometry Participates in VFW National Convention in St. Louis
Faculty and students with the College of Optometry joined forces with the American Optometric Association (AOA) and the Missouri Optometric Association (MOA) to perform eye screenings to veterans at the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) National Convention, held July 21-23, 2014 at the America’s Center in Downtown St. Louis.  see more
Class of 2018 Attends Two-Day Orientation
The 45-member class of 2018 attended the two day orientation on Thursday and Friday, August 21-22, 2014 at the JC Penney Summit Lounge where they prepared for the first day of class on Monday, August 25, 2014.  The two-day event allowed students to get to know one another better and learn more about what to expect in optometry school from current students and faculty.  The new class also had the opportunity to learn more about the student optometric organizations on campus. see more

Dr. Brown is Honored with the UMSL Distinguished Alumni Award
The 2014 Founders Dinner was a very special occasion for a member of the Class of 1988 and for the College of Optometry.  Dr. Barbara W. Brown was recognized among five Distinguished Alumni Award Recipients at the Founders Dinner at the Ritz-Carlton on September 26, 2014. see more
