Assunta F. Marino, MBA, CPCU ’95 has volunteered with Seton Hall since 2005, representing the University at college fairs, supporting admissions events and writing postcards to prospective and admitted students. She also attends College of Arts and Sciences events and served on last year’s Alumni Golf Outing Committee to support first-generation students.
Her favorite moments? Connecting with future Creative Writing and English majors and their families, helping students make the jump from high school to college and from college to their careers.

For many of Seton Hall’s most promising students, the biggest obstacle to a degree isn’t ambition or ability; it’s opportunity. RISE (Resilience, Integrity, Scholarship, and Excellence) serves more than 140 low-income, first-generation students and students with disabilities, built on a simple idea: every student deserves the chance to finish what they started.
RISE supports each scholar throughout their time at Seton Hall, providing academic, financial, career and personal guidance. That support is paying off: RISE scholarship recipients graduate at a rate of more than 90 percent.
Your gift can help RISE continue changing the trajectory of students’ lives, one degree at a time.

Seton Hall admissions are going strong, thanks to our volunteers!
Help us keep new Pirates coming to Seton Hall! This fall, we need volunteers to welcome families at open houses, write postcards to admitted students, and host regional events in their area.
Not sure where to start? Simply spreading the word about Seton Hall makes a difference too. Every conversation helps!

Join the Legacy Challenge - it costs nothing now! |
For a limited time, donors who document new planned gifts will generate an immediate cash match. Thanks to a generous group of alumni and friends, Seton Hall will receive a 10% match (up to $10,000) of your commitment to benefit the RISE Scholarship Fund. While the matching funds are available, your planned gift may make a difference for students today, while also creating a lasting legacy for the future.
