Council Member Alondra Cano wants to remind you that Election Day is Tuesday, November 7.
You can find your polling place on the Minneapolis Elections website. The polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
On the ballot this year are local seats such as the Mayor, the City Council, Park Board Members, and the Board of Estimate and Taxation.
If you have any questions or experience difficulties voting, please call 311 or visit the City of Minneapolis' Election and Voter Services department website.
To prepare for voting take the following steps to ensure that lines flow smoothly:
2. If not, learn how to register in person the day of the election. You can register the same day with:
  • a valid Minnesota drivers license, permit, or ID (or a reciept for any of these) with your current address on it
  • a Minnesota drivers license, permit, or ID, high school photo ID, tribal ID, Passport, or military or veteran ID with photo, current name, and no address or an old address (may be expired) PLUS an approved document like a bill with your name and address on it (see the full list of acceptable documents
  • a valid Tribal ID with current address 
  • a valid post-secondary student photo ID if you live on campus
  • a neighbor or freind who is registered in your precionct who is willing to sign an affidavit attesting to your identity and address 
3. Download your Sample ballot from the Secretary of State's website so you can reserch any races that you are unfamiliar with ahead of time.
