Dear NJCU Student,

Your health and safety are important to us at NJCU.  In light of the recent outbreak of the coronavirus, we encourage you to check your NJCU email account daily as the University consistently sends updates to the University community.    The NJCU website has additional information on the virus for you.  The University will also be posting an update outlining steps to be taken should the Governor declare a State of Emergency for New Jersey.

The Coronavirus disease was detected this week in New Jersey. The World Health Organization has declared this global outbreak a public health emergency of international concern. As a result, the Office of Global Initiatives has canceled all study abroad trips and strongly urges all international students not to travel outside of New Jersey during the upcoming spring break. With so much still to be learned by healthcare professionals concerning this disease, you can do your part by limiting unnecessary travel and large group outings.

If you have a real emergency that necessitates your presence abroad, please contact Jamilah Moudiab, Senior Director for Global Initiatives, at jmoudiab@njcu.edu.

We will continue to update you regarding this issue.  Please remember, if you are feeling ill, do not come to the campus.  Seek medical care right away.  Before you go to your doctor or emergency room, call your healthcare professional first and notify the NJCU Student Health Center at 201-200-3456.
