Congrats to Wayne on his retirement!

Let's Celebrate!

This year's Protector User Group Meeting (PUGM) occurs September 11 - 12 at the Music City Center. It's a big deal, too, since it's our 25th consecutive year to host the educational, networking conference. Simply put, we want you to be part of this milestone! The event is designed for all Protector users, owners, and administrators, regardless of skill level, application version, or FMS experience. You'll feel right at home whether you're a first-time attendee or returning veteran. Visit the PUGM 2023 website for lodging and logistic details, and then secure your spot by registering.

Wayne's World

In September 1986, Byron Middendorf and Wayne Lowe founded Equinox and created a great place to work. 36 wonderful, devoted years later, Wayne has well earned his retirement. After we recently celebrated this happy occasion, Chris Lowe recounted what it was like to grow up as Wayne's son and expressed gratitude for the legacy his father created. Read the full tribute here. Congratulations and best wishes, Wayne!

We have the absolute best customers and love introducing them via the ‘Customer Spotlight’. The latest article showcases TeleLink (the application and user group) veteran Amber Kerr.
Amber Kerr is an active member of the Equinox community, most recently participating in the 2023 TeleLink User Group Meeting in Nashville to learn more about the latest version’s innovations. Since Equinox and Amber are both members of CFCA, we frequently interact with her at those educational events and networking dinners as well.
Amber began her telecom journey 15½ years ago at the same company where she’s still currently employed and now serves as Director of Software and Information Management. In that role, Amber oversees the department’s operations and all its associated projects. The TeleLink application falls under her purview, and she’s been involved with the application since its initial implementation and deployment in 2012. She relies on the system primarily for subpoenas and other data investigations.

Amber first attended the TeleLink User Group Meetings (TUGM) in 2018 when Equinox revamped and reintroduced the educational forum at the Music City Center in downtown Nashville. She says getting to see and hear about the all-new TeleLink 11 application was the most beneficial part of participating in TUGM 2023, as well the driving force behind her decision to attend the conference this year. According to Amber, “We are still using TeleLink 5, and it is running without issue, which demonstrates how dependable the system truly is. However, I hope to more fully utilize the available information in TeleLink 11 and to also include additional data sources.

The system’s dependability means she doesn’t have to call for support often, but Amber says, “everyone my team and I have worked with at Equinox has been great.” She further explained that “level of engagement sets Equinox apart from other vendors. I always feel like our issues or requests are important to Equinox. In fact, collaborating with the team at Equinox is the biggest advantage. The team is responsive, adept, and reasonable. Equinox consistently gets our internal favorite vendor award!

Born and raised in Fargo, ND, Amber currently resides in Mountain View, WY, with her 14-year-old son Ronin. He loves video games, wrestling, and (much to Amber’s shock) public speaking. Her daughter Eve, who attends college in Billings, MT, met Christi Vanoye at a CFCA event that Equinox and Amber both attended. Christi apparently made an impression on Eve because Eve always asks Amber to tell Christi hello on her behalf. (We’re not surprised to hear that, as we’ve seen Christi in action and know she genuinely loves talking with and getting to know everyone she meets!). Outside of corporate work, Amber fills her personal time with a wide range of hobbies, including cultivating exotic houseplants, refinishing furniture, performing home updates, painting, drawing, and cooking—because everyone loves tasty food.

Amber truly understands the importance of education and networking as evidenced by her involvement at TUGM, TeleLink trainings, and industry events. It’s a pleasure knowing Amber and having her as a member of the Equinox family!
