The Oregon Board of Accountancy recently approved $1 million in scholarships, which will be awarded by the OSCPA Educational Foundation over the next 5 years to economically disadvantaged accounting students across the state. These scholarships will expand access to education and professional opportunities in the field. PSU Professor of Accounting Elizabeth Almer served as chair of the OBA committee to create the scholarship program, leading the effort to support the next generation of accountants in Oregon.

Last month, an elite group of 12 freshman and sophomore PSU Accounting majors from The School of Business earned the opportunity to attend Deloitte’s Future Accounting Leaders Summit (FALS), an invitation-only event held at the stunning Deloitte University campus in Dallas, Texas.

We are pleased to share that Kristina Ivanou has been selected as the 2025 recipient of the prestigious and competitive scholarship awarded by the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). After several years in the beauty industry and now as a mom, Kristina Ivanou was inspired to pivot into accounting for the stability, sense of purpose, and long-term opportunities it offers. She chose PSU for its strong taxation program and supportive environment that encourages both academic and personal growth.
