Duo pro tips

UO does Duo
Dear UO student,
Now that you're using Duo two-step login, here are four tips to optimize your experience.

Duo Tip #1: Thwart the Hackers

With Duo, you should only verify your identity when you are logging in!
  • If you get a Duo push notification or phone call when you're not logging in to a UO service, that means someone else is trying to log in with your Duck ID and password. Stop unauthorized use of your account by tapping "Deny" in the Duo Mobile app or "9" on a phone call.
  • UO IT staff will be notified whenever you deny a fraudulent Duo verification request.

Duo Tip #2: Remember Me for 7 Days

This handy feature lets you do Duo just once a week for most UO services (per browser or app, per device).

Duo Tip #3: Disaster-Proof with Codes from the App

How will you log in if your phone dies or gets lost?
You need a backup plan. We recommend stockpiling some passcodes from the Duo Mobile app. It's easy — but you have to plan ahead!

Duo Tip #4: Get Help

Need help with Duo? Contact the Technology Service Desk for tech support 6:00 a.m.–midnight every day, except UO breaks and holidays:
