Dear ECELP Families,

At a press conference today, Governor John Bel Edwards announced the continued campus closure of all K-12 schools through the remainder of the school year. Although this order does not include early care environments, we will continue to monitor the Governor’s office and the Louisiana Department of Education for updates on the stay-at-home order, in communication with the LSU Emergency Operations Center, in determining when we are able to resume operation at the ECELP.

This is a challenging time for us all. While there is physical distance between us, our relationships are strong. In true LSU spirit, let us keep in mind that our well-being as well as that of our families, friends and neighbors is at the heart of all decisions being made by our community leaders. We must support them by doing our part to stay home, safe and well.

If there is anything that you or your family need, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or our administrators.

I look forward to the day that we can again be together.

Sincerely,

Cynthia DiCarlo, PhD
Executive Director
