A Centennial Event of the SF Public Defender's Office
Please Join Us for A Special Event on February 22nd!
As we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the San Francisco Public Defender's Office, we're kicking off our centennial with an only-in-San-Francisco book release & panel discussion of Jeff Adachi's new book published posthumously by Grizzly Peak Press.
The Case of San Francisco Public Defender Frank Egan
Murder and Scandal in the 1930s
In his newly released non-fiction book, Jeff Adachi dives into the newspaper archives of 1932 to tell the tale of San Francisco's first Public Defender, Frank Egan, who after a long career in civic life found himself accused of murder and conspiracy. Adachi traces the trial that held San Franciscans rapt by the drama captured by a throng of reporters hungry to break the daily news.
