Launching in 2024 | Unified Champion Schools + WA State Teacher Academies
|
Our Educator Growth and Development program is happy to announce that coming soon, they will be leading the coordination of blending the key strategies of Unified Champion Schools (UCS) and Recruiting Washington Teachers (RWT) Bilingual Educators initiatives to promote a “grow our own” special education teacher academy program for high school students.
This new program will focus on recruiting, preparing, and mentoring high school students with and without disabilities, with a specific focus on multicultural and multilingual students, and students of color, to become future special education leaders. This new program also aims to address educator shortage by promoting the teaching profession.
Building off UCS’s evidence-based strategy to support and create communities where students with intellectual disabilities feel welcome and are routinely included in all school activities, opportunities, and functions, we envision a change in school culture that promotes a socially inclusive school climate that helps all feel welcomed and engaged.
START UP FUNDS WILL BE PROVIDED! Contact Melissa Matczak for more information on how to participate in 2024.
