On behalf of the Institutional Advancement team, we are delighted to welcome Maria Vasallo, Class of 1992, as the new Associate Vice President for Alumni Relations. After almost ten years at nearby Cambridge College, most recently as Vice President of Marketing & Digital Strategy, Maria returns to Emerson where she will leverage her exceptional communications and relationship-building skills to strengthen alumni engagement across the country and the globe.
Maria began her career at family-owned Caribe Communications, renowned for publishing El Mundo Boston, the area’s oldest and most recognized Hispanic newspaper, airing Spanish-language programming on AM Radio, and now as an expanded digital media and events company. She spent nearly eight years at a Boston-based global market research firm, where she spearheaded successful projects for major brands including HP, Disney, Kraft/Mondelez, Coca-Cola, Welch’s, and Wellpoint/Anthem Insurance.
In addition to her professional achievements, Maria has served as a board member at the distinguished Boston nonprofit organization, IBA (Inquilinos Boricuas en Acción), where she currently holds the position of board president.
Maria brings a wealth of experience and dedication back to Emerson College. She looks forward to meeting the Emersonian alumni community; please be sure to give her a warm welcome if you meet her in her travels.
