NASHVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 12, 2024) — Cash Cortes announces “Poor Man’s Gold” — the debut track from his forthcoming 2025 LP — will release Friday, November 15 in conjunction with a performance and interview segment on Hulu’s new show, “It’s All Country,” hosted by Luke Bryan, airing that evening.
Cortes, who is of Puerto Rican descent and splits his time between Nashville and Miami, says, “This song is autobiographical, right down to the artwork and its symbolism. I wrote it shortly after finding out I was going to be a father. I didn’t have much money and my pregnant wife and I along with my stepson were living out of a bedroom in my mother-in-law’s house. I had this fire burning inside of me that was beginning to clear a transformative path into being a father and a husband. Staring down this newly cleared pathway filled me with joy and ambition. In that transformative moment it occurred to me that no matter what, if everything I owned was taken away from me, I was still rich. Rich with love and rich with life. That’s the core of our very existence. It’s a ‘Poor Man’s Gold.’”
He adds, “This music, and getting to share it with the world on Luke Bryan’s Hulu show is a gift I couldn’t have imagined even a year ago. I can’t thank Luke and Kane Brown, whose segment I’m featured in, enough for including me and letting me debut this song that means so much to me, to their audience. Thanks also to Hulu and the Disney team for your support of country music.”
Hulu’s “It’s All Country” will follow host and country music superstar Luke Bryan as he explores the hidden depths of Nashville in search of the untold stories behind Music City’s legendary songs. The series features never-before-seen performances by some of the biggest stars of country music as Luke uncovers the secrets, the hidden inspirations and the personal moments that shaped the music you love. Musical guests will include Kane, Mickey Guyton, Wynonna Judd, Sheryl Crow, Lady A and Luke Combs. "It's All Country" is executive produced by Grant Kahler, Luke Bryan, and Kerri Edwards. Peyton Manning executive produces under his Omaha Productions banner alongside Jamie Horowitz.
“Poor Man’s Gold” was co-produced by Tyler Keith Woodward, OEG’s co-founder and head of A&R and Brian Bunn, and is a solo write by Cortes (who formerly used the name Alex Georgia to assimilate into the country space several years ago). Cortes personally designed the track’s artwork.
“The tears are for the ups and downs I’ve walked to get to this place of love, peace and focus, while the 777 under my eye stands for keeping my eyes on God — it’s His number of completion,” Cortes says. “Amor x Vida means Love and Life and the heart on fire represents the renewed passion I have for where I am now. The photos in the background are of my family — they’re what means the most to me. The fire behind the entire scene represents all of the negativity that comes with living out your dreams. It’s a reminder to block out the noise and leave the inferno behind you."
On behalf of OEG, Susan Owens says, “Cash is a seasoned artist and songwriter with so much drive and passion. We are working toward 2025’s LP and are excited to introduce him to the Country market who we feel are ready for his music and his story.”
“Cash is the kind of artist that desires to push boundaries in every detail of his brand and sound. He wants to create something the world has never experienced before and we couldn’t be more excited to share his upcoming project in 2025.,” adds Woodward. “Working on this project has been such a blessing in all of our lives.”
Adds Cortes, “I almost can’t even put into words the amount of excitement I have to be able to join such an incredible team like OEG. Since day one they have treated me like family. As a Latino, treating people like family no matter how long you’ve known them is an anchor in the very fabric that makes up who I am. I am truly surrounded by a team of individuals that believe in the same mission I’ve set out to do since day one. I can only pray that the music I create will touch people’s souls, meet them right where they are in life, and give them hope.”

About OEG: OEG (Owens Entertainment Group) is a music company in Nashville based on artist development, label services, and publishing. Since its founding five years ago, OEG has prioritized creating a family-like environment within the often-complex world of music. Under the leadership of Founder and President Susan Owens, OEG has become known for its commitment to compassion, understanding, and unwavering support for artists and writers.
Susan, along with her son Tyler Keith Woodward, has built OEG into a safe haven for emerging writers and artists. Their hands-on approach to artist development includes assessing a writer/artist needs and supplying services from the ground up. This includes facilitating writing relationships, booking co-writes and curating recording projects. It has also included producing projects, marketing of projects upon release, and securing distribution partners on a per-project basis. Each writer/artist is different and a unique approach to each project is an intentional and important part of the development process. An early success for OEG includes writer/artist Wyatt Flores, who was initially signed in 2021. This nurturing approach to Wyatt's career has included all of the aforementioned services, culminating in a recording agreement with Island Records. Wyatt and OEG recently celebrated the platinum certification of his breakout hit "Please Don’t Go."
OEG’s current roster also includes singer-songwriters SEVY! and Kaitlyn Kilian, Wyatt Flores,, as well as songwriter David DeVaul, each of whom benefit from the company’s deep commitment to helping writer/artists reach their full potential.
