See Nature from a New Angle

Get Engaged With Nature
See nature from a new vantage point with our latest video highlighting the Longwood beehives! Join Beekeeper Paul Lysko on a journey inside the hives to see the colony in action. Headed out for a nature walk? Whether you’re taking a stroll in our Gardens or your own neighborhood, use our new guide to seek out common summer birds along the way.

Summer Camp at Home

Looking to spark curiosity and connect with nature this summer? Designed for children ages 6 to 10, our themed Summer Camp in a Box offerings are filled with what your child needs to experiment, get creative, and learn something new from home. Enjoy indoor and outdoor activities with easy-to-follow instructions and connect online with fellow campers and our Longwood educator during each camp week’s live virtual events.

Follow Our Discovery Trail

Use our mobile map to discover hidden secrets in the Main Fountain Garden, identify trees in Peirce’s Woods, search for wildlife in our Meadow Garden, and even take a meditative moment during your visit. The Discovery Trail will help you engage your senses while you learn more about the beauty of our Gardens.

Share Your Harvest with the Community

Longwood is once again joining forces with the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society’s Harvest program to help fight food insecurity in the region. Our Gardens will once again be donating fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs from our Kitchen Garden to the Kennett Area Community Services throughout the summer growing season. Have a surplus from your home gardens? Join the Longwood Growing team and donate to your local community. Want some tips for vegetable gardening at home? Visit a series of Ask the Expert talks hosted last year for home gardening tips and tricks.
