NEWS FROM THE NINTH WARD
Early voting for the August 14th primary is only 20 days away! Our City Elections staff are hard at work at the Early Voting Center at 217 South 3rd Street. It is open weekdays and Saturdays the two weeks before the August 14th primary. Find all of the information that you need to vote early on the City's website.

Whether you vote early downtown or at your normal polling location on election day on Tuesday, August 14th, I hope you will vote and encourage many of your neighbors, friends, and family to do the same!

VOTE FOR COMMUNITY PROJECTS TO RECEIVE ReCAST FUNDING
ReCAST Minneapolis is committed to seeking and supporting community-based initiatives aimed at reducing and responding to trauma. Our support addresses trauma in many forms including incident-based events as well as the trauma from institutional and systemic racism. This funding supports projects that increase trauma awareness, promote resiliency, or deepen resident knowledge around policy and systems change work. They focus on Northside and Southside neighborhoods impacted by violence and trauma.
Vote today on your favorite proposals and help this $490,000 go to great projects that seek to heal our communities!
MEETING ON PROPOSED POLICE CHARTER AMENDMENT:

The City Council is moving on with the next step to consider a proposal to add a charter change question to the November ballot asking Minneapolis voters whether or not they would like to see the Minneapolis City Council have full authority over the Police Department.
Next week, a joint meeting of the Intergovernmental Relations and Public Safety and Emergency Management Committees will hold a public hearing to hear resident perspectives on this effort. We hope you can join the conversation!

CROSSTOWN TO DOWNTOWN
The 35W@94 (transit access) project is well under way. Our neighborhood is already being impacted by closures and increased bus traffic. 
Stay up to date on the project by visiting the website and signing up for project email updates. Please note that access to downtown from 35W is currently limited- check the website and consider transit or bicycling to your destination!
