Last Chance to Apply for Employer Award

Employers in Downtown Bethesda have a long history of offering some of the best commuting benefits in the region. Don't believe me? What about if I told you that an employer from Downtown Bethesda has been recognized with one of these prestigious regional awards four of the last five years, with the most recent being the Donohoe Companies (pictured above) in 2018?

Each year, Commuter Connections awards companies and organizations from around the DC region who work to make their employee's commutes easier. Whether it's via transit benefits, teleworking, or excellent marking that motivates employees to leave their cars at home, Commuter Connections wants to recognize the best!

If you feel that your company's benefits program is top-notch, give it a try! But you must hurry because the last day to submit your application to be considered is today (February 28)!

Go ahead and complete your company's Traffic Mitigation Plan Annual Report!

If you are the person in your company who handles employee benefits and your company has more than 25 employees, you should have received an email from Montgomery County about filing your company's Annual Report.

It's super easy and can be done on-line. The Department of Transportation would just like to hear about the amazing stuff you're doing to encourage employees to leave their cars at home.

Annual Reports are due on Friday, March 15.

Spring Means Blooms and Bikes!

Look, you may still be waiting for snow drifts to melt in your yard, but we are thinking about Springtime and Biking!

First we have the #BikeInBloom contest from Capital Bikeshare and the National Cherry Blossom Festival. Between March 12 and April 14, 2019, keep an eye out for the cherry-blossomed themed Bikeshare bike, then safely snap a photo and upload it to Twitter using the hashtag #BikeInBloom. Each person that tweets a picture with the hashtag #BikeInBloom will be entered to win a special prize every week! Make sure you follow Capital Bikeshare on Twitter to stay up to date with the latest contest details!

While you are looking for the #BikeInBloom, we at BTS are looking for Bike to Work Day event partners! This year's event will be held on the gloriously rain free day of Friday, May 17 and we need local businesses to help us out. You can donate prizes, cash, food, or whatever else we can make work to the hugely popular Downtown Bethesda Pit Stop. Sponsors will be recognized on our website, as well as at the event!
