| Health Education Highlight
|
February is often associated with romantic love because of Valentine’s Day, but the importance of platonic relationships is frequently overlooked.
Yet research shows that strong social support systems, or what many refer to as their village, play a vital role in supporting mental wellness (Kapil, 2025). As the semester moves forward, it’s worth asking: How are you building your village this season?

Community Nutrition Highlight
|
Between classes, labs, and late nights at Georgia Tech, nutrition often takes a back seat - yet it plays a critical role in focus, memory, and energy.
Prioritizing nutrients like omega-3s, antioxidants, and B vitamins and including a variety of foods throughout the day can support brain health, concentration, and overall well-being.

| February is Dating Violence Awareness Month, a time to reflect on what healthy, respectful relationships truly look like. This year’s national theme, Real Love Respects, reminds us that real love is rooted in mutual respect, clear communication, trust, and boundaries.
At the Wellness Empowerment Center, we recognize that these conversations are especially important for college students navigating dating, friendships, and relationships of all kinds.
