This Summer's O.W.L.S. Camp Keeps Kids Active in the Outdoors
With the end of the school year quickly approaching, Tennessee 4-H is getting amped up for even more fun at the many summer camps offered. 4-H Summer Camps are a great way for youth around the state to stay involved with the program throughout the summer while learning a variety of new skills and fostering new friendships.
At the end of May, sixth through 10th-grade youth participants have the opportunity to attend the Outdoor, Wildlife, Leadership and Service Camp, otherwise known as O.W.L.S.

Friend of 4-H: Bill Johnson

Each year, the Tennessee 4-H program recognizes a supporter who has gone above and beyond to support 4-H Youth Development.
This year, we honored Bill Johnson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Farm Credit Mid-America, a $23-billion agricultural cooperative serving more than 100,000 farmers, agribusinesses and rural residents in Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky and Tennessee.

Michelle Cunningham: Honoring a Beloved Extension Agent

For many 4-H’ers, the most valuable lessons don’t come from competition and project work, but rather the volunteers and leaders who spend their time and resources impacting the development of youth. For Michelle Cunningham, this holds especially true.
In 2018, Cunningham began the Clare Nell Breeden Scholarship, which awarded one student $1,000 in the name of her longtime mentor.
