CC provides a dumpster alternative!
Every year as CC students graduate, study abroad, or relocate off campus, they often find themselves with excess belongings that they cannot take home. Unfortunately, many of these items are disposed of in landfills despite being suitable for recycling, composting, or donation.
Ditch the Dumpster is an annual program coordinated by the Office of Sustainability in collaboration with Residential Experience. It encourages students to donate their gently used items instead of throwing them away during move-out. Accepted items include clothing, hangers, unopened food, cleaning supplies, outdoor gear, and small household/dorm items, etc. Ditch the Dumpster starts on Friday, May 10 at the Mathias Lobby, Loomis Lounge, South Hall Lobby, and Hybl Community Center. Donations will end for the Big 3 (Mathias Lobby, Loomis Lounge and South Hall Lobby) on Thursday, May 16, and for Hybl on Monday, May 20.
Some donated items will go to the CC Pantry Exchange and will be saved for future move-ins. This year CC is also teaming up with RISE, an initiative dedicated to improving southeast Colorado Springs through resident-driven initiatives. RISE has pinpointed smaller non-profit organizations and other impactful community initiatives to receive targeted donations based on their specific needs through CC's Ditch the Dumpster program.
Please encourage your students to "Ditch the Dumpster" when they move out, and utilize these sustainable resources!

Join the Momentum: Propel Students Forward with the Clement Challenge!
| |
With the help of our community, we've already raised over $90,000 since the challenge opened on Feb. 12, moving us closer to our goal!
This challenge, honoring alumnus William 'Bill' Clement '42, offers a unique chance to double your impact on essential college priorities and amplify your support for our students' futures. From now through Dec. 31, when you support current and future CC students with a gift to one of the priority areas identified on campus, your impact will double with a matching allocation (up to $25,000) from the Clement gift. Up to $2 million of his gift is going toward the challenge. Learn more about William Clement and his recent high-impact gift to CC.
Your participation in the Clement Challenge directly enriches our students' educational experiences. Each contribution supports vital student needs such as financial aid, mental health resources, and academic programs. With the end of the school year approaching, we encourage you to join this impactful initiative and give today.
Together, we're creating a brighter tomorrow for every CC student. Let's keep the momentum going! For questions, please contact annualgiving@coloradocollege.edu.
