Be Well Breaks

For the New Year, make a resolution to take Be Well Breaks!
The Be Well Employee Wellness Program seeks to improve the health and wellness of university employees by creating a campus that supports positive lifestyle choices. Be Well and Human Resources are encouraging faculty and staff to engage in Be Well Breaks throughout the workday to practice self-care and energy management.

What is a Be Well Break?
A Be Well Break is a recovery technique that employees can use to restore their energy over the course of the day. Some examples include:

Having a healthy snack
Gentle stretching
Checking in with a colleague
Taking a lap around the office
Practicing a breathing exercise
Refilling your water bottle
Walking on a campus route

Why are Be Well Breaks important?
Healthy breaks throughout the workday contribute to higher job satisfaction, productivity, and engagement. Be Well Breaks can be a healthy and productive part of the University of Tennessee's work environment.

How to participate in the initiative?

Request Be Well Break materials, including door hangers and posters
Print Be Well Break signage for your office space
Take Be Well Breaks and model the behavior for your colleagues

Boosters & Flu Shots

A reminder that the Student Health Center is offering COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters, and the flu vaccine.

COVID-19: The Student Health Center is offering the Moderna and J&J vaccines. Boosters are recommended anywhere from 2-6 months after receiving the initial dose(s) depending on which vaccine you received. You can find more information about eligibility on the UTK Vaccine page. For COVID-19 vaccines off-campus, use the COVID-19 vaccine locator tool.

Flu: No appointment is needed for flu shots at the Student Health Center Pharmacy. Walk-ins are welcome Monday - Friday 9-4.

Covenant Health Knoxville Marathon

Join the University of Tennessee Team to run a 5k, half-marathon, or full marathon!

The race takes place the weekend of March 26th, 2022. Those who join the team can receive $20 off the price of registration! Use code "UTK2022" at checkout when registering under Corporate Teams. For more details, check out the Be Well Webpage.
