SPRUCING UP FOR THE NEW SEMESTER
With fewer than four weeks until the Fall 2023 semester begins, UNT staff members are hard at work getting the campus ready for students. This new term brings many additions like The Market and improvements to Chilton Hall and the Coliseum. Staff are making the campus better and even more beautiful, and we can’t wait for students to enjoy it!

FINAL EXAMS FOR SUMMER
As summer sessions come to an end, we hope students taking exams get the rest they need to do well. Final exams wrap up on Friday, July 28, but the last regular class meetings are tomorrow, July 27.
Reach out to your professors with any last-minute questions to clear up any confusion before finals, and make sure to balance studying with sleeping. It’s never too late to start a study group, so connect with your classmates to finish the summer semester strong. You’re almost there!

UNT ENGINEERING AWARDED GOVERNMENT GRANT
The Department of Mechanical Engineering received an $800,000 grant from the U.S. Army Research Office to study a manufacturing process for critical machinery parts that could help all branches of the military. Department chair Herman Shen and associate professor Hector Siller will lead teams of undergraduate and postdoctoral researchers as they investigate the production of more reliable and durable replacement parts that crew on military vessels could build themselves. Paul S. Krueger will oversee this process as the new dean of the College of Engineering. We are so excited to see their work and research!
