In order for late elimination round judge pools at the National Tournament to live up to the values of inclusion and diversity, we need your help!

If you are highly qualified to judge and would enhance the diversity of our panels, consider completing a diversity profile and nominating yourself to judge late elimiation rounds on Tabroom.com. Please encourage the judges you bring to do the same! Instructions are available here.

Time is Running out to Celebrate Coaches!

Each district may select a deserving member coach to receive the awards below, and from those district-level award winners the national winners are selected. District deadlines vary, but chairs must report winners to the national office by April 16.

District High School Coach of the Year Award » This award annually honors high school coaches who reflect outstanding leadership and commitment to speech and debate activities. This year, the national recipient will be selected from the pool of district winners rather than from a separate nomination form! Make a nomination »

District New Coach of the Year Award » This new award will recognize an exemplary new coach who is in their first year of NSDA membership. If you're not sure when a coach membership was paid, please reach out to us. Make a nomination »

District Assistant Coach of the Year Award » This new award will recognize an exemplary assistant coach serving at an NSDA member school. Make a nomination »

Middle School Coach of the Year Award » This award annually honors middle school coaches who reflect outstanding leadership and commitment to speech and debate activities. This is not a district-level award; all middle school nominees are entered into the national pool. Make a nomination »

Cast Your Vote

District Leadership Election » District leaders play a vital role in shaping the success of speech and debate in their community and across the country! Each active member high school shall have one vote in the biennial ellection. One high school chapter advisor may log in to their NSDA Account and select NSDA Voting from the menu to cast a ballot online from a list of coaches active (affiliated with an active school) in the district. Advisors must rank a minimum of six and a maximum of eight coaches. Carefully consider those best qualified and motivated to lead, as well as those who best uphold our core values. Account for how well your committee choices reflect the student population your district serves. Voting closes April 19. Learn more about the election and district leaders »

Hall of Fame » Current Hall of Fame members and active coaches with three or more diamonds may vote online to select this year's inductees to the Hall of Fame. To vote, log in to your Account and select NSDA Voting from the left side menu. Voting closes April 26.

Big Questions is Back for Three More Years!

Did you hear the news? As a result of the incredible success of Big Questions Debate, the Templeton Foundation has generously decided to provide another three years of support for Big Questions! To celebrate the renewal of the grant, there will be a special spring cycle of Big Questions grants. We invite you to apply by April 16. Please note, spring events must have all reporting documents to the NSDA by May 31, 2019.
