Illinois General Assembly Update
This week, the state legislature continues its spring session with work on a variety of issues, including the FY16 budget. Michael J. Madigan, Speaker of the Illinois House, has convened a House Budget Oversight Panel that will meet for the first time tomorrow (Tuesday, April 21) at 8:30 a.m.

Similarly, the House may soon convene a Committee of the Whole to discuss possible workers’ compensation reform proposals and ideas, while also highlighting the benefits of implementation of the workers’ compensation reform law that was passed in 2011. The whole House would convene to discuss the issue.
Employer Action Day
The Chicagoland Chamber was down in Springfield last week for the Illinois Chamber's Employer Action Day for updates on legislation, networking with business leaders, and the chance to hear from five of the top state government officials, including Gov. Bruce Rauner.
Upcoming Meetings:
The next City Council meeting is on May 6, 2015 at 10 a.m.
The next Cook County Board of Commissioners meeting is on April 29, 2015 at 11 a.m.
